Did you know about the color profiles that you use. I am talking about JPG, BMP, TIFF, PNG etc.
Designers and computer geeks must have come across this many times but never really bothered to know what color profiles really is. The different formats are basically for different devices such as phones, blackberries, pcs, tv etc. so that each device shows the original colors present in the image file.
There is something such as a browser embedded color profiles. Ever wondered why a particular image looks different in Safari 3 and the same image looks different in Firefox 3? If you do not save the image in the correct color profile that is compatible with the browser, it is bound to show the image differently. This is a very important point for web developers and choosing images that are compatible with all browsers. (Check the ICC for more information on this)
